The Myth Of Muslim Backwardness : Alarmist Orders of Government
Already government has done damage to our society by issuing dangerous instruuctions based on Sachchar Committee recommendations like posting muslims as SHO/ASI in police thanas in areas having muslim majority / concentration .Should only hindus be posted in police in hindu areas or Christians in Meghalay? It is a very dangerous instruction.
Firstly Sachchar commitee recommendations are neither objective in totality and based on very selective pro muslim indices due to faulty terms of reference. It has ignored much widely acclaimed international indices according to which
MUSLIMS ARE AHEAD OF HINDUS IN INDIA .
Unilateral government instructions based on Sachchar commitee are very damaging to hindus as well social structure of the country .
Let us see how muslims are ahead of hindus in India .
1. Greater Urbanisation :
36% of muslim population lives in cities compared to 26% of hindu population .This greater urbanisation gives them greater privileges and saves them from abject calorific poverty leading to farmers suicides or hunger deaths .
2. Higher Expectancy of Life :
The muslim expectancy of life at birth is 68 years compared to 65 years of hindus .The gap has increased in last decades due to greater urban development in India .
3. Lower Infant Mortality :
The infant mortality is lower in muslims at 59/1000 births compared to 77 of hindus .
4 .Lower Child Mortality :
It is 83/1000 amongst muslims compared to 107 amongst hindus .
5.Muslim Male literacy
of 55 % is higher than 49% in Pakistan. If it is lower than 64 amongst other Indian males certainly muslims in India have got more privileges than in Pakistan hence no discrimination.
6. House hold income :
Muslim household income is Rs.58420 compared to Rs.61423 of hindus , Rs.70644 of Christians and Rs.91153 of Sikhs . A major contribution is higher working women in hindu and other Indian house holds and less fragmentation of land due to less children . The minor gap is indicative of no discrimination of muslims .In fact considering doubling of muslim population it is indicative of muslims being ahead of hindus otherwise.
7. Higher Population Growth of Muslims :
On an average muslim families have one more child compared to hindu families .Since independence muslim population has increased by five times compared to three times for hindu population . This induces backwardness for which hindus cannot be punished by being asked to support extra muslim child’s education etc. due to larger muslim population growth.The currennt population growth rate is 2.5% for muslims compared to 1.4 % for hindus . Muslims should pay higher taxes for uncontrolled growth of population.
8 .Muslim Educational Backwardness is Global :
a. 57 muslim nations have 500 universities compared to 5748 in USA and in
8407 in India .
b.2% of muslims in Islamic countries go to college compared to 44% Christians in christian countries.
c. In UK UNEMPOLYMENT IS 17 % amongst muslims compared to 8% amongst Sikhs and 6% amongst hindus . 31% of musklims in working age have no qualifications.
d. All muslim countries produce 500 Ph.Ds compared to 3000 in just one country i.e. UK.
INDIA :
e. In 1878 , 3155 hindu college graduates were available compared to 51
muslims . Certainly there is no case of discrimination in independent India .
f. An avearage muslim child spends 3.3 yrs in school and only 1.9% go to college compared to 4.5 % hindus .
Government jobs are not correct yardstick to compare as muslims are far better represented amongst working professionals . It is like counting few brahmins amongst shop keepers. Each community has its traditional source of earning livelihood.
Therefore government should not implement Sachchar commitee recommendation in a hurry without Parliamentary scrutiny as required .
